Barbecue Days

Care to sit?

In Newcastle we have two types of barbecue days. One, the ideal, first type, is sunny and almost not windy. That, however, occurs quite rarely and not much people are willing to wait long enough to get it. That’s where the second barbecue day comes into the picture.
Second type of barbecue day is a day as on the picture above. Mostly sunny with very, very, very fresh air. It’s so windy, that our neighbour’s trash can almost smashed us on the walk, because it was just happily flying around in the wind. Day like that is beautiful, but one can’t really wear anything big, because he might simply fly away (and join that trash can on the way of exploration of our area). On the walk one can come across many strange things laying on the streets, from shoes, pieces of clothes, to trash cans from 5 streets away, to armchairs, mattresses, dining tables and other stuff which shouldn’t really be outside.
Needless to say, that as soon as the wind blows away and a calmer (= rainy) day comes, the city council cleans the city from all that brag around and patiently waits for just another barbecue day of a second type.
And why barbecue day? Because families take their small travel grills and sit in any big grass areas, like Heaton Park near our flat, and happily have a ‘dinner out’. On yesterday’s walk we came across two families, one small English, one big Indian. They made me certainly hungry!

Urge to Purge? Pro-Ana isn’t necessarily Pro-Life and Thinspo is for stupid cows

I always wanted to be slim. Not Twiggy skinny, but that still didn’t persuade me that Audrey Hepburn shouldn’t be my body ideal.
And I still think that nicely slim girl, especially Asian, can look adorable, tender and I just feel like taking them home and caring about them – and not, I’m not lesbian.

At this very moment is my ideal any slim Asian woman, maybe because I can’t ever be like them. I still think they’re the most beautiful creatures walking on Earth.
But that’s not the issue – I am clever enough to realize where are my borders and also I can compare myself when being ‘average’ and when being ‘slim’, and I certainly prefer to complain a bit about my weight and be happy and satisfied, that be skinny, depressed and touchy. Being 12 kg lighter and much less happy? No way.

Health Visitor

Falcon Medical Group má Health Visitorů několik, spolu s Nursery Nurse, a dvakrát týdně pořádá i dětskou kliniku Well Baby Clinic, kam můžou rodiče děťátko přitáhnout, pokud mají starosti a přitom nechtějí FMG zatěžovat rezervací míst pro pacienty, kteří potřebují ošetřit, nikoliv poradit.

My new book!

Although it doesn’t seem to be much for many people, I am happy. After 3 years of not having any books to read, I bough my first (english) book to read. Better than PC, definitively. And I know we have online libraries, but come on, who actually reads a book sitting at the PC? Not me, I am sure.
This is my baby:
The Descent of Man and Selection in Relation to Sex by Charles Darwin.
I bought it in a small shop at the corner of our street. It is an antique shop, we may say – run by a young man who spends all his free time by reading tons and tons of books and collecting them; the things he has twice, or didn’t like, or just feels like sharing, he sells in his bookshop. From really new books up to ‘treasures’ 50 and more years old (whole shelf about soviet socialism, for example, caught my eye for really long, lol).
It’s a lovely place and I have to say, that although I entered the shop all in black, in hijab and lose clothes, obviously so Muslim (he seemed to be really surprised to see me in there), he didn’t move a muscle when I was paying the 5 pounds for book like that (obviously non-Muslim).
I am sure I will visit that lil shop many times in future, because he seems to have a nice collection of books I might be interested in. And the book frustration does a lot!

When spam makes your day

[EN]
This is an exact repost of an email which just came to me, avoiding the spam filter, right towards my eyes.
It came already in two languages and I gotta say that in none of them it makes much sense… but it made me laugh, so why not share! To the spammer’s luck I won’t censor anything, so feel free to program a bot sending an email back.
